S1E1 - Below The Law
This episode follows Austin-based defense attorney, Adam Reposa. He's a major character in Texas, known for his high profile antics and rebellious persona. But off the camera and in the courtroom, Adam is a fervent and exceptional defender of the rights of his client. He's methodology reflects is adamant position: Our Justice System is broken. Far too many people, overwhelmingly people-of-color, are being arrested, jailed and funneled through an abusive system.
S1E2 - Art of The Con
Scams, shakedowns, rip-offs... Cons bombard us in varying degrees of sophistication (and legality), but they all beg the question: "What kind of person would do such a thing?" In this episode we explore this seedy underworld through interviews with real-world con artists, jumping into the fast lane with their tales of quick lies and easy money... And the wake of facing their conscience.
S1E3 - Smuggler's Playground
In an Arizona border town, we dig for some truth about drug smuggling and the never ending "war on drugs". We talk with law enforcement on the front lines of this battle, and get insights seldom shared from the podiums and pulpits of the rest of the country. S1E4 - Radio-Free West Virginia
We are swimming in a virtual sea of data. Wifi signals, GPS, IOT - Cell towers dotting the landscape... All our technological progress is precipitated by the unseen force of electro magnetic current. There are people who believe they feel the presence of these currents in acute and adverse ways - And there is a place that has been drawing them in as a safe haven.
S1E5 - Unmaking a Meth Lab
In this episode we follow a family-owned cleaning business who specializes in one very high-demand service: Meth Lab cleanup. The horrendous chemical concoctions that yield meth are some of the most noxious and hazardous you can encounter, and when a place has been used to create meth, the residues and damage left behind can be very dangerous. Former meth labs leave a veritable blue-print to the tragedy of addiction.
S1E6 - Disappearing Act
In this episode we hear the story of a loving husband who leveraged multiple identities to evade authorities for decades. Just like Walter White in Breaking Bad, he did everything he could to remain free and connected with his family. But the consequences of running weigh deep, and ultimately can cost the very thing one meant to protect.
This was an incredible project I was excited to be a part of from start to finish.
Beginning with the initial creative pitch to the final color and audio pass, this was a massive effort by a small, tight crew of talent.
