IPL rejuvenation - what is it, how is it performed and other features of the procedure
Nobody wants to get old, but, unfortunately, this process cannot be stopped. But you can prolong your youth. There are cosmetic procedures for this, one of which is IPL rejuvenation. Still not sure what it is and how it is done?

What is IPL Rejuvenation?
The procedure is performed with an apparatus that generates light fluxes. The equipment operates using Intensive Pulse Light technology, which means intense pulsed light. That is why another name for the procedure is photorejuvenation. What problems does it deal with:
scars;
rosacea;
acne;
acne, post-acne;
telangiectasia;
hyperpigmentation;
uneven skin tone;
age-related changes.

The device helps to eliminate dermatological defects and renew the epidermis. The impact is performed on any type of skin. Thanks to the software, you can change the settings of the equipment, adjusting to the desired parameters.

Are there any contraindications for photorejuvenation?
It would seem that it is a simple and harmless procedure, but there are contraindications for it. In addition to pregnancy and lactation, these include:
fever;
strong tan;
photodermatosis;
psoriasis, dermatitis;
open skin lesions;
ophthalmic diseases;
infectious skin diseases;
other dermatological problems;
the use of drugs that increase the susceptibility to photoexposure.

If any of the problems is present, it is better to refuse photorejuvenation. Consult with your beautician about the possibility of choosing a different procedure.

How is IPL rejuvenation performed?
The patient is placed in a comfortable position. A blindfold or goggles are worn to protect the eyes. The skin at the site of exposure is covered with a gel with a light texture. All problem areas are gradually treated by means of a maniple.
The light fluxes generated by the device have different wavelengths. Due to this, the effect is on all layers of the epidermis. How are dermatological problems solved:
Scars. Pulsed light stimulates tissue nutrition, improves microcirculation. The skin is smoothed, scars disappear.
Telangiectasia or rosacea. The luminous flux is directed to the problematic capillaries. Under the influence of the radiated heat, their walls are glued together, and they become invisible.
Acne. The rash is caused by bacteria and their vital activity. Pulsed light has bactericidal properties. Thanks to this, the procedure improves the condition of the skin.
Age-related changes. Under the influence of pulsed light, fibroblasts, elastin, collagen are activated. As a result, the skin is tightened, smoothed, and its tone improved.
Pigmentation. The most active light flux is absorbed by melanocytes. Under the influence of rays, melanin is destroyed, the skin gets rid of pigmentation.

The exposure time depends on the area to be treated and the problem being solved. IPL Photorejuvenation usually lasts 5-60 minutes.

Rehabilitation period
On average, one course of photorejuvenation is 4 sessions. They are performed no more than once a month. After the procedure, minor complications are possible:
redness that disappears after 2-4 days;
occasionally, bruising persists for a week;
in the case of pigmentation in its place, there will be darkening of the skin for 5 days;
small coverage of the impact site with crusts is possible, no more than 10 days.

During the rehabilitation period, the final exfoliation of dead cells occurs. After that, the skin becomes elastic, wrinkles are smoothed out, the tone is evened out.

To reduce the likelihood of complications, you need to adhere to certain rules. Before a photo rejuvenation session, you do not need to sunbathe for two weeks. After the procedure, we advise you to follow these recommendations:
limit the application of decorative cosmetics;
three days after the session, you can not visit the sauna and bath;
use sunscreen with SPF more than 15;
for two weeks after photorejuvenation, it is worth giving up tanning.

Having followed all the recommendations, you will speed up the rehabilitation period and eliminate possible complications.

Duration of IPL rejuvenation effect
How long the skin stays smooth and beautiful depends on the individual. And also special attention is paid to the effects of ultraviolet radiation. Under the influence of sunlight, problems will begin to manifest faster. Pigmentation, redness, wrinkles - they will again make themselves felt after a while. How quickly this happens is up to you.
The effect can be prolonged by protecting the skin from ultraviolet radiation using protective products. Patients with pigmentation and other dermatological problems who follow all the recommendations, it is enough to carry out a course of photorejuvenation once a year. To eliminate age-related changes, courses are held every six months or a year.

Monitor the condition of your skin and solve age-related problems in time. This will help preserve youth and health for a long time.
