DUNE Move Poster
Designed this poster because I'm hyped for Dune and can't wait to watch it. I love the cast and I love the idea of the movie. Futuristic Sci-Fi movies are right up my alley.
Process:
I started with putting the ideas in my head to paper, scribbling them down and also using this to process some of these ideas. Some people have vivid images in their minds, while I just have fuzzy concepts so this process helps me flesh out things. It's like thinking with a pen and paper.
Dune has a lot to do with a desert planet, which means a lot of sand and dust, which I took into account in designing this.
Images from the movie that I used made my work easier because they had the colour grading of people in such an area. Selecting images from what is available (in this case, not much) goes a long way in making my process easier and faster. But I still had to work on the colours to make sure the design felt coherent.
Composition wise, I had Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet facing different directions for contrast purposes. Also made them the biggest in size for visual hierarchy reasons.
