The Old Houses of Beirut

This project is a tribute for the old traditional houses of Mar Mikhael, the part of Beirut that was severely damaged by the beirut blast.
What differentiates Mar Mikhael from all the other districts of Beirut was how its houses were preserved from the early years of the 20th century. I tried my best to portray this and be as close to reality with the colorfulness and the finishing that was hybrid of old cement tiles and vivid stucco.
The Lebanese water Jug called "Ibrik" and the Wooden chair known as "Kerset Khayzaran" were specifically modeled for this project due to their importance in the Lebanese culture and popularity in Lebanon. Wrought Iron is also an element that is commonly present on windows, I tried to showcase its beauty by the shadow cast on the arm chair.

I hope you like it!
