A series of images that will later appear in a forthcoming book project called ‘This is The West that was’. The book intends to be an exploration and celebration of some of the wild places that remain in the Westcountry area of England. Though true wilderness is an extremely rare thing in the British Isles, there are sections of land and river that remain largely untouched by human intervention over the centuries. The book aims to be an invitation for the viewer to go and explore these enchanting locations and embrace the beauty of the remaining wild places.

The book will also include include information on the plants and geology of these wild places, as well as associated legends.
