Reveling in the warm glow of a peaceful Bahamian sunset, the newly-crowned "Sidney Poitier Bridge" provided the backdrop for the most sincere and heartfelt celebration Pacifica Films has covered.

 

This event, which was both a festival celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Bahamian Independence, as well as a tribute to Sir Sidney Poitier, was a sight to behold. The Honourable Perry Christie, Prime Minister of the Bahamas, presided over the two-night celebration, which featured musical performances by the likes of Jennifer Hudson. Oprah Winfrey, and a variety of other A-List celebrities found themselves alongside Pacifica Films, rapt up in the sentiment of the two nights. 

 

In addition to this highlight film, we created two tribute films which were screened at the event, which featured the likes of Morgan Freeman and Quincy Jones. We also operated the live-feed video at the Jennifer Hudson concert, shot off-the-cuff interviews at spontaneous times to be incorporated into our tribute films, and did an overnight highlight edit which was shown to the execs at Atlantis the day after the event. This weekend has become affectionately known by the Pacifica Films team as "Stress in Paradise".
