South Carolina can be an excellent place to engage in some fun winter activities. There are so many to choose from that tourists and residents can always find something to do.

Some say winter is the best time to see the Hunting Island Lighthouse, located in the state park of the same name. Currently, plans are underway to expand the park after acquiring a private island by the state.

Even during the winter, many people pay a visit to Table Rock State Park. The highlight of a visit to the park is making the 3.4-mile hike through the park, with the final destination being the largest natural landmark that South Carolina has.

Those who can’t or don’t want to hike through Table Rock can enjoy a shorter hike around Lake Placid. With flat land, this trek is better suited for many people. Lake Placid can be found in Paris Mountain State Park. The winter months provide the best view of South Carolina from the park.
