For this project, we were required to put in a character performing a mundane/ practical action while set in an exciting environment.
My choice was to show an officere casually checking his watch with a sunset environment over a futuristic sci fi city.
This was my first step to come up with a rough sketch
My second step was to ink out the outlines for my final draft
The layout of this picture is based on a 1-point perspective placed in dead center of the canvas
The third and final step was to color
This project was meant for us to practice with the lighting and shadow saturations in a painting so this project was assigned to be in colored in grayscale.
