Urban fruit
From Concept to High-Fidelity Prototype

PRODUCT
Street Snack – An app that encourages urban dwellers to explore their city in search of free-growing fruit and vegetables.

PROBLEM
To create a healthy, fun, and engaging product that would motivate people to explore their city and find free-growing fruits, nuts, and vegetables.

PROCESS
The design process began with conducting user research and interviews to gather data and insights. This helped to identify two user groups, and low-fidelity prototypes were created and tested to gather feedback. The feedback was then used to iterate and improve the design, leading to the creation of a high-fidelity prototype built in XD and animations made in After Effects.

FROM RESEARCH TO PROTOTYPE
The first stage of the project involved conducting both quantitative and qualitative user research through interviews and surveys. This helped me identify that people living in the city were interested in either sharing their abundance of fruit (if they had a garden) or finding free fruit, nuts and vegetables (if they didn't have a garden). I then created low-fidelity prototypes and tested them, and conducted a design review.

Wireframes, UI design, and logo design for the product were created, and the name of the product was decided upon based on the research and interviews. Brand personas and icons were also designed, and primary and secondary colors were chosen for the app. I created illustrated characters to add a fun and engaging element to the app.

The name of the product, Street Snack, was chosen through user interviews and played a key role in setting the tone and directing the graphic design of the app.

Pick or share? That is the question.

ONBOARDING
A launch campaign was also designed for onboarding, using outdoor and social media ads to drive downloads.

FINAL UI-DESIGN
The final stage of the project involved designing a high-fidelity mobile prototype using Adobe XD, with animations created in After Effects. The prototype was then tested on users and presented.
