The article featured references to the 3 Alfies project where children were asked their opinions of 3 characters when presented to them in the same story. The overweight child was the least popular. The article also heavily referenced Roald Dahl's 'Charlie & the Chocolate Factory' and its famously overweight character Augustus Gloop.
