10% Off Shop Purchases for Members Poster
I was asked to make a poster for the museum shop to advertise that museum members get 10% off. I was recommended the text of "did you know?" and worked around that. Their logo was a must for the design, and I wanted to show off some of the products that members could get the discount for. I liked the idea of splitting the whole page in half. The text taking up the top, and the photos taking up the bottom. I put the call to action at the bottom in smaller text but used a rectangle to draw attention to it at the bottom of the information hierarchy.
10th Annual Collectors Event Visitor Handout
The museum needed something to handout to visitor at the front desk to advertise the Collectors Event coming up. They gave me the text and the logo that already existed. I drew inspiration from the logos typeface that was very loos and liquified. I decided to freestyle some blobs that resembled paint. I wanted to keep it professional looking so I kept the color black so that it was not too much for the eye to handle. I also wanted to include some images of the art that would be for auction to give a peek into what they could expect from the event.
Package Card
I was asked to design a card to put into packages when someone ordered something online from the museum shop. They wanted to include their website and phone number and of course feature and advertise some of their biggest products available. I was asked to change their traditional black and white logo into something with color. I picked a muted purple as purple can represent creativity and being artistic. I included a painted canvas for the background to support this. I then pared it with a sage green to give a sense of freshness and growth for the shop. They wanted the images organized and clean looking so we opted for a standard grid that was spaced and sized evenly.
Cotton Pearls by Brenda Branson Display Card
The museum needed a redesign for the card that belonged in the display case along with the jewelry. I included the text that they already had and added a fun scripted font for the title. I wanted this to be the focal point along with the hand-drawn organic cotton stem that supported the script. I then used a footer strip to include the cleaning instructions at the bottom of the information hierarchy. I opted for a tan color for this as I wanted to provide a warmth to the otherwise black and white card. I also wanted to tie in the earthy meaning of this product as it was made organically.
