Mechanicheskiy Pyos (“The Mechanical Hound”) is a side project of Russian musician Andrey ‘Dolphin’ Lysikov embodying his interest in electronic music. The first album is called “The Autoignition Point of Paper” and heavily inspired by “Fahrenheit 451”, a dystopian novel by Ray Bradbury.
The goal was to create a memorable visual identity for the project including the album cover and merchandise.

We’ve chosen a somber color palette with a hint of acid evoking a memory of the golden age of rave culture. The project’s logo used as an album cover looks great on vinyl, as a cover for streaming audio or on big screens in concert venues.
The dystopian motif is emphasized by a typography which was inspired by a technical lettering.
We made a diverse merchandize series — from pins to clothing pieces, — using quotes from various songs by Mechanicheskiy Pyos.
