Interior Visualisations of Apartement in NYC Style

Hello,

I am sharing with you my newest Project -
Interior Visualisations of Family Apartement in New York Style.
This time I want to write down my whole Process of making this project.

so,
lets begin...

1st step is always searching for INSPIRATIONS and FLOOR PLAN.
2nd step is bringing floor plan to AUTOCAD as a picture to create my own .dwg file as on the picture blow.
It is important to find right scale, using for example thickness of the wall or something that has standart measurments - like kitchen table top - 60cm or doors - 80/90cm wide.

The drawing is ready on the picture below.
I make small changes in the constructions as I want.
Also, I am making basic project of interiors to see how everything fits together and making some ajustments.

Subsequently, I making inspiration map in my head, but on the picture it looks like the picture below...

When I know what I want to design, finally I can start to make
model 3D of the apartament.
I am importing my .dwg drawing into 3dsmax on "underlay" layer and freeze it, then I repeat outlining on "walls" layer and making walls.
It is important to keep everything clean from the begining, seperate everything into right layers.

Now, it's time for placing all the Cameras. I will only focus on the best choosen frames, because this project is only for my portfolio and practise, not for Client, if it would be for Client then I have to show everything.

Next, modeling all wardrobes, ceilings and floor moldings, searching for lamps, chairs, accessories, sofas - SEARCHING, this takes the most time.

I want to give you some nice websites that I use and they also have models, it is sometimes super difficul to find what we want and with 3d models. Very offten I write  emails to the producers so they can sent me access to theirs 3D model Library. They usualy are happy to do that and we dont have to pay to download it on 3dsky or somewhere else.

I am also using 3dsky for finding models, this is my website nr. 1, from recently I also start to buy nice models so I have my library for the future, it is usualy 7$ and totally worth it, or we share with some friends.

Here is the list with a few websites that I use in this project:

https://archiup.com/pl/
https://3dsky.org/
https://menu.presscloud.com/digitalshowroom/#/gallery

sofas:
https://www.sits.eu/pl
https://nap.com.pl/pl/

lamps:
https://www.lightformshop.com/
https://www.livingstory.pl/

tables:
https://takemehome.pl/

Next step is to ADD all Materialslights in the Scene,
Sun Light and Environmental light.

ALWAYS! I use CLEANER script:
http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/cleaner to clean the scene.

Importing plenty different models into the scenes makes big mess and you can see it in your final render.
Try to open models first in 3dsmax, then check what is it, put into 0-layer and only then bring to your final scene.

I always use this script after all models are in the scene, and before final render.

Another great tool I am using is IMAGECOMPHELPER script:
http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/imagecomphelper

Help us with Story-telling and using Rule of Thirds,
 to change our Visualisation into
something more eye-catching and more interesting.

Next, I set Renders settings. In Corona Render there is not much to change but I show you below anyway.
I use one Corona Camera and place it in different positions on different time of render. Then I set in final render setting RANGE from 0-x and it safes by itselfs also with all added Renders elements. This way we can leave our renders for couple of hours by itself.

Lately, I am also using Light Mix,
that helps to control the light even after renders are done.

And first Renders are done.
This is how it looks like on the picture below,
BUT... It feels flat and boring, something is missing...

I change couple of things, models, materials, etc....
and FINALY - final resoults are here below.

After Renders are done, I am making Post-Productions in Photoshop.

Please leave in Comments your Feedback.
Hope That I can help you with some questions and give you answers or just show you my way of thinking.
I am very happy always to hear what do you think,  THANK YOU.
