Sardine 15 m² studio apartment for a student

Fifteen square meter studio apartment designed for a student on a budget. Apartment is inspired by Japaneese aesthetics and minimalism thus making budget look elegant and modern. Main material being used is plywood due to its many advantages such as low cost, durability, strenght and lightweight. Moreover, plywood is environmentally friendly and it perfectly imitates solid wood. Raw concrete ceiling has been impregnated and left unfinished in order to refer to the stone material widely used in Japanese architecture. The floor is made of white resin to emphasize minimalist atmosphere. Bathroom walls are made of glass due to limited apartment size. Furthermore, glass walls give access to daylight. The bathroom and the kitchen are located on raised floor which consists of additional storage space. In order to make more room for creative work bed slides under the bathroom making apartment look spacious. Creative space consists of large white cupboard which turns into small home office. Wardrobe space near the entrance consist of a hiding spot filled with pillows which can be used to store office chair or read a book in isolation. Sliding wardrobe door can be moved to the dining area to hide the bar stools.
