Jane Sampson has exhibited widely both in the UK and abroad and her work is held in many public and private collections. She has a few celebrity collectors such as Jason Donovan, and Louis Theroux. Her artwork has featured, in ‘She’ ‘Times Style’, ‘Maison Francais’‘Aesthetica’,and ‘Brides’ magazines. It has also appeared in commercials for Vodaphone, Waitrose, Aviva, Motorola and Mars. In the films ‘The Special Relationship’, ‘Bouquet of Barbed Wire’, ‘You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger’, and ‘Tamara Drewe’. Also the TV dramas ‘Collision’, ‘Holby City’ and ‘Material Girl’. Most recently she was awarded the John Purcell Paper prize at the 2012 Royal Society of Painter Printmakers “RE Open”.
Jane was founder and co-director of Brighton Independent Printmaking (BIP) an open access print workshop in Brighton UK form 2000-2010 and more recently founder of Inkspot Press. (www.inkspotpress.co.uk). Jane is well known as a facilitator and promoter of Printmaking. As a part time lecturer at Brighton University, short course tutor at Westdean College (the Edward James Foundation), and teacher at her open access facility she has introduced literally thousands of people to the joy of making prints over the years. Her specialty is screenprinting although she has practiced and taught many other printmaking media at graduate and post graduate level.
