Crash Club - Game Creative Direction

I worked alongside Codemasters and Bugbear studios in Helsinki to develop a concept that could help give their new racing game a strong identity in the crowded racing segment.
This was an unusual and exciting brief as it was an opportunity to unify some of the development and marketing ideas at a much earlier stage than normal.
I created the full script for the game and originated the in-game mechanic of the masks, which each racer would be able to customise for themselves and would become 'scalps' of those racers that you have beaten online.

I also worked with various animators and artists to scamp very early examples of key art / in-game menu and overall animation style.
Unfortunately the game got lost somewhere in development hell - which was a real shame as I think its anarchic tone and destructive action would have made it stand out.
