ADMINISTRATION PANEL
We have also developed a Back End panel where the client can edit the content of the timeline (text, translations, images, position of some items, to add a new Commission,...) and then push, with just a click of the mouse, the update to the touchscreens and the Web versions.
The printed version of the timeline project was created using
- Adobe InDesign CS6 for the layout and InDesign CS5 for the PDF export (because of a nasty PDF Export bug in CS6),
- em software's InCatalog,
- a series of customized JavaScript.

The interactive version of the timeline was created by a third-party developer with a series of open source technologies for the Web: MySQL, PHP, HTML5, JavaScript,...
29 October 2020 Update
As the Juncker Commission is now a thing of the past, the timeline has been updated using a new printing technology, with a new kind of fabric, with a much enhanced quality.
The interactive content in 24 languages has also been updated with all the information about the Juncker Commission. Not only can this content be read in the Visitors’ Centre in Brussels (Charlemagne building) on two giant touchscreens, it is also possible to learn the complete history of the European Commission via this link. This project has been created by only three people: my developer and I, and a historian who provided the content. But nobody believes us… ;-)
