EN : Between 1973 and 1999, the New York foundry ITC published the magazine U & lc (Upper and lower case), presented as a 'panoramic window, a showcase for the world of graphic arts'. In fact, in terms of showcase, it is a way for the company to present its typographic creations, from the most traditional to the most experimental, while leaving room for contributions from amateurs or semi-professionals. With artistic direction entrusted to Herb Lubalin (until the latter's death in 1981), U & lc was very successful and quickly established itself as a benchmark in its field. The journal is distinguished by an ability to speak to both novices and typists around the world.
