Green Economy | Animation

I was approached by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung to turn their informative script into an engaging animation. I was responsible for the voice over, creative direction, storyboard, design, animation and music selection. Since the topic tackles green economy from a feminist perspective, I chose a palette that involves natural colors along with pastels, along with collage as a visual direction, which allowed me to portray diversity and inclusion of the social groups mentioned. I'm happy to say that this has by far been one of the most interesting and challenging projects. English Captions available.

Update: It is worth mentioning that this video was screened during COP26 - UN Climate Change Conference in a forum discussing the links between climate change and women's oppression. It's such moments that make endless hours of work even more worthwhile!

Description: Research indicates that the transition to a green economy would stimulate job creation, estimated at 24 million jobs, according to the International Labor Organization. Nevertheless, steps must be taken to ensure a fair and equitable transition. A feminist vision of a green economy in the region will be required to ensure that women and men also benefit from the transition to a greener economy, as the employment gains from this shift tend to occur in male-dominated fields such as renewable energy, industry, and construction. How can social justice be promoted by promoting gender justice within a green economy? This short video produced by the attempts to answer these questions and provides an overview of the challenges anticipated in the transition to a greener economy from a feminist perspective.
