This is promotional material designed for the Obon festival, a Japanese celebration of the dead. It includes a brochure, festival ticket, and a red lantern for a giveaway item. Japanese celebrate the life of their ancestors for three days with food, dance, music, and end the celebration by sending off lanterns into a body of water. This design uses a simple color palate, minimalistic style approach, and hand painted visuals to give it a traditional Japanese look.
This won first place the 2014 Positive Space art show at La Roche University in the Event Promotion category. Check out their website: www.designatlaroche.com
