Challenge
This self-initiative project allowed us to experiment and develop our own intuitive techniques to integrate photography and 3D CGI environments.
Our intent was to use rough textures and materials to achieve a contemporary and minimalist look and feel.

Process
We produced 3D CGI sketch ideations. Products were then modelled and highlighted in a 3D CGI scene. Once the camera angle, the display, textures and lighting were satisfactory; we reproduced the same mood and vibe (in terms of lighting and vibrance) in our studio and took a HD photograph of the product. Subsequently, we outlined the product and integrated it back into the 3D CGI scene.
This methodology allowed us to produce images that have a particular edge and mood which would have been extremely difficult or perhaps impossible to achieve with conventional set-design techniques.
