PANAK_FM
Panak_FM is a character created for Slovak Radio_FM. He represents the vibe of the radio during all concerts and live events. Design was created by Ové Pictures and 3D production and animation was covered by willbe.studio. Process included creation of a design, 3d model, presentation material and inflatable sculpture.
Design process started on the white sheet of paper, figuring out all the features. Panak has two faces so he can welcome everybody from all sides. He wears a hat, has a snake-like scarf and he is 3.5m high. He came alive after all these elements were carefully polished. In next steps the Panak was brought to 3D world to serve the sculpture production and presentation footage. Hardest part of this process was to preserve his cartoony features and bring them to physical form. Since Panak is an inflatable sculpture, the idea behind digital presentation was to keep showcase this feature. This came to 3D cloth simulation. Pantone was chosen as a primary color system for this project, which ensured consistency across the digital world and physical world. Physical inflatable sculpture brought difficulty on its own. Panak is made out of quite complex shapes in some parts, it did not make it easier for the manufacturer.
At the first sight the project looks simple but the whole production range from various skillsets and professions which made it a more complex project.
