At the end of my residency in China I was taken to a lounge bar to celebrate and the owner invited me to sing on the stage. I was a bit embarrassed when she asked, as I am not a professional singer. However this was not a problem, as they like to get foreign people up on stage as they are seen as a novelty. The only song I could remember was ‘Its Now or Never’ the famous Elvis Presley song. When I started to sing the band struggled to get in synch with my out of tune voice and they clearly had not heard of the song. Eventually near the end we somehow pull it together.
