SULTAN QALAWUN LINOCUT POSTER
The Qalawun complex is a massive complex in Cairo, Egypt that includes a madrasa, a hospital and a mausoleum. It was built by the Sultan Al-Nasir Muhammad Ibn Qalawun in the 1280s; some thirty surviving mosques were built during his time.
soo when i visited this spiritual place i found such a beautiful master pieces of arabic calligraphy cravings that inspired me to frame it in that humble artwork, and i decided to make it with linocut technique to give me the feeling of cravings so it would be similar to the stunning cravings on the buildings; as we crave the linoleum sheet in that printmaking process.
