This Illustration is a fun take on historiated initials found in many medieval illuminated manuscripts. I chose to incorporate bullthistle flowers because they are the flower of Chenango County where I'm from. I also included a tiny donkey munching on the bullthistle that is modeled after one of my families donkeys named Vinny. Below I have placed the letterform within an example incunabula.
