INFRARED
LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY
Why do I like infrared (IR) landscape photography
IR photography offers a different view of the world
IR images tend to be moody, eerie, atmospheric, surreal, dreamy
IR images have an inherent glow
IR photography is suitable during times of the day ill suited for regular photography, i.e. middle of the day during harsh light

All the images shown in this project were taken with 720nm IR converted Sony A7R full frame mirrorless camera
Three sets of two images below show a faux color (left) and B&W IR image (right)
Characteristic tell tale signs of IR B&W images can be seen as white foliage and black skies

The two images below illustrate seasonal differences in IR landscape images. These images were taken in generally same location but at two different seasons. The top image below was taken during winter when most of leaves from the deciduous trees were gone accounting for the lack of white trees. Conversely, the lower image below was taken few months earlier with leaves present on the trees giving the trees the characteristic white appearance. In fact, viewers unfamiliar with the IR photography thought that the image represents a winter scene with snow covered trees.
