Everyone knows that the birth of Bartitsu is due to Edward William Barton-Wright's lifelong interest in the arts of self-defense. But only a few know that Lord Gentleman (a British nobleman who lived around the middle of the nineteenth century) was the accidental precursor of this hybrid martial art. Lord Gentleman was not really a fighter. He was just a bad-tempered thein addict who didn't like being interrupted while he drank his tea. And he drank 24 hours a day (because thanks to the effect of the theine he no longer needed to sleep), so essentially he could NEVER be disturbed.

He is ready to fight. Are you ready to deal with his fancy walking stick?

You will regret stopping him on the street to ask which is the shortest way to get to the Thames.
