MEGALODON which means big teeth, is an extinct species of shark. This shark is estimated to have lived about 23 to 2.6 million years ago during the Early Miocene to the Late Pliocene. That the maximum length of this giant shark reaches 18 m. Its large jaw has a bite force of between 110,000 and 180,000 newtons. The decline of this species was also caused by ice ages that triggered ocean cooling, decreasing sea levels.
