For this project I created and developed Mascots for Russian Olympic Summer Games.
My design is specifically targeting children as the prime audience.
My five characters, frog, fox, bear, fish and bird are five common animals from Russian fairytales. Each character represents a specific athletic quality. For example, bear – power and strength, bird –agility and flexibility, frog - spring ability, fox – speed and savvy, fish – endurance. For the color pallet I decided to use the bright complimentary colors which are suitable for kids and it matches the colors of the rings. I gave a name for each character, which explains the quality that this animal represents in Russian fairytales: Powerbear, Firebird, Magicfish, Princessfrog and Witfox.
