Well it’s part of my journey trying to go back to taking photographs and develop a photographic project that is nurtured by the challenges that most of us face due to the pandemic of the COVID 19.

I’m bipolar, I’m on the autistic spectrum and I take photographs. Every situation is a different challenge and opportunity, the idea of creating or reinforcing personal and artistic ties is the engine behind this project.

Isn’t a new idea, so far of it, I can recall the works of Robert Matheson (in which I participated) and perhaps a series of Sylvain Norget. 

I want to explore what is gained and what is lost due to the mediation of the internet connection, the latency, the quality of the camera on the side of the person photographed, and the quality of the screen on my side.

Also is a challenge the interaction, some people need and enjoy more the talk and work vis-à-vis, while others like me, find that kind of social interaction challenging at best. 

The idea is to focus initially on artists who I admire and who have the kindness of trust in me and be part of this leap of faith. Maybe later it would be expanded to other people.

A photographic session is scheduled without any requisite on my part, I try to adjust the different time zones and to define a good time to make the session. Also I pay special attention to what the person to be photographed finds interesting, comfortable and enjoyable.

The idea is to chat, to talk about art, the life during the pandemia and in the meanwhile capturing some snapshots of each person. To share a brief space of time united across the distance and isolation we are dealing with.

Some of the photographs would include nudity, others not, some of it would work inside the classic definition of portrait, others not. I hope each session presents a different dynamic that would nurture the person(s) photographed and me.

After the captures it would take from my part some days to edit and select which images I find interesting. Share it with the person photographed and see if they want some of it to not be included in the project. Then publish it.
