An interactive pathway which acts like a precursor to the theatre performance 'Kadak Badshahi' by Natrani at Shreyas Foundation, Ahmedabad.
Ideation
A model was created to depict the 3 sections of the pathway -
Flourishing era, Draught period & Present Day

The Flourishing Era
The flourishing period was the time when the local communities were engaged in domestic activities like clothe dyeing, block printing, etc. As representation, a few photographs of the time, an aerial view of the clothes set to dry near the river and suspended fabrics to create a mood of the era.

The Draught Period
An installation of the circus tent and the silhouette of imminent figures of the Dandi march was a part of representation of the 'Draught Period' of the river. The lighting of this area was set to mimic a harsh afternoon sun. The soundscape played a speech of Mahatma Gandhi against the chants of the public.

The Present Day
This part of the pathway represents the present day Ahmedabad. The city skyline was recreated in a minimal manner, along with an installation depicting the murmuration patterns of the rosy starling birds. The opposite side to the city skyline was a symbolic representation of the urbanisation of the river. It has depictions of the iconic riverfront lamps, the railing and cement pavement.
