Every year The New York Times Book Review does a massive Summer Reading issue. In 2020 I was commissioned to create the cover as well as 10 additional interior illustrations—all corresponding to different themes (Books about cooking, books about romance, books about travel, etc). 

During Covid lockdown the challenge was to keep the spirit of summer reading inside our homes. How reading could transport a person out of home? We illustrated book portals to different worlds. An entire illustration series was created out of the idea of being pulled into different worlds, an escape from where we were locked through portals made out of books.
