The Ascension Vertical Expansion project encompasses adding four additional floors to an existing patient tower and providing a program that includes inpatient rehabilitation, a med-surg unit, orthopedics, and cardiology. The purpose of these additional floors is to decompress the existing number of beds and provide private patient rooms. The client has a very robust set of standards that were essential to the design from both the perspective of the architect and interior designer. While these standards provide boundaries, they do not limit creativity and can result in a well-executed design.
