This is the first piece of work I have been commissioned to do. I have hand carved the posts on the stair case to help create an artistic feel to the pop up resturant in Headingley, Leeds. The owner was looking for something unique and eye catching that would help to add a talking point to the new resturaunt. The stair case is made of pitch pine and was very nice to carve, and as you can see the grain patterns really help to bring the stair well to life now. I have finished the commission in osmo oil to give it a strong durable finish, that should last a long time and keep the piece feeling nice to the touch.
