Brief
The brief for this project was to create and develop a series concepts out of a selection of 20 initial words.
With the selection of words chosen develop each with a different design technique.
The words we were provided with were these:
Responsibility, Security, Courage, Devotion, Beauty, Luxury, Water, Independence,
Adventure, Trust, Life, Conflict, Community, Freedom, Accomplishment, Love, Status,
Home, Personality and Bad.
LUXURY, “A condition of abundance or great ease and comfort.”
Concept: Unsafe Water
Unsafe water kills around 780.000 people a year and is still, by many, not considered
a luxury.
ADVENTURE, “An unusual and exciting or daring experience.”
Concept: Mountain Range
Mountains, they are formed by the collision of platonic plates and cause some of the nicest natural scenery and viewing points on earth. My favourite places to go adventuring.
INDEPENDENCE, “Freedom from the control, influence or support of others.”
Concept: Riots
When there is a riot, a crowd of people behave violently in a public place, for example
they fight, throw stones, or damage buildings and vehicles often with the aim to gain political independence.
FREEDOM, “The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants.”
Concept: Free Like A Bird
Some birds are capable of travelling through air, this form of travel is the ultimate form of freedom, from there the quote "Free like a bird".
WATER, “A colourless, transparent, odourless liquid.”
Concept: Water Access
The population’s dependence on water is not evenly distributed. Due to a lack of water infrastructure in rural settlements, 74 percent of all rural people are entirely dependent upon groundwater, local wells and pumps. While some of us waste it without any thought.
