Fashion monster
Fashion is a true phenomenon gone from a social to a universal level. It is society’s way of expression, an intimacy we nurture day after day that we can’t do without. The media compel us to an ever excessive and compulsory consumption.
A monster is an individual or a creature whose looks or behaviour startlingly stray it away from the standards of society.
“Wear” calls to a person’s imagination. In the project I’ve elaborated, the monster is the one pointing at overconsumption, warning against its environmental impact.

Creation of fashion monsters
This project has been about how the fashion monster is the first look with which to consider our society and an inaugural step towards a garment’s journey.
Each monster represents a continent since every continent is part of the process of clothes designing. To tell each monster apart and assign a continent, I relied on two pieces of data : colours and distinctive features of particular traditional clothing. At the end of the journey a five-part passeport will be issued, with information and numbers informing on the toll this overconsumption takes. The editing will appear as an interactive planisphere so as to better understand the global impact this phenomenon has.
This project is not about claiming anything ; it aims at raising awareness on a current issue.
