A polystyrene model emulating a mining site, required for the mining demo, expecially to show how the sensors of the associated company, Sandvik, could help different mining vehicles to autonomously move inside (and outside) the mining site, as well as collecting data regarding the fuel consumption, the speed, the time and so on.

The Industry Lab already owned a mining site model, but bigger and much heavier, as it was made of pure plaster.
A lighter, smaller, less expensive, but keeping a high level on details, copy was very helpful for external exhibition (its weight is 25 kg).
The main challenges were things like a working space not suited for big prototypes, heavy and delicate components, as well as long processes to consider.

It required 1 month and 1 week of work, and was achieved with polystyrene boards, plaster, water colors, artificial dust, two acrylic panels, a wood base and dozens of screws and rivets.
