Design For Good
PROJECT BRIEF
In Design For Good, we came together as a class in order to create environmental awareness posters for a gallery show. For the topic of our show, we chose to focus on Beach Pollution specifically in the Corpus Christi area. Each of our posters were to show how we interpreted the topic, backed by research and a call to action in order to challenge the community to make a change.
DESIGN CONCEPT
For my poster, I wanted to create designs that replicated the screened or block printed style. For my research, I began to think about beach pollution as a whole and then moved on to problems that specifically relate to Corpus. In ideation, my professor challenged me to research the quality of water and how it affects the community. With a large surfing community in the gulf, I chose to focus on the bacteria in the water and the harmful effects it can have and where it comes from, for my call to action I challenged the community to conserve water, which is a way to prevent the causes of the harmful bacteria.
