Context
Our project consists of envisioning and designing the visual identity for the NABA Awards - Communication Area, dedicated to acknowledging the best projects for the academic year 2019-20, over all levels of education.
Our team created a naming, a system of modular logos, and a specific method of creating graphics pertaining to the contest.
We also decided to create and present a logo animation, as every component of our project is designed to fully express its potential while in motion.
Logo design
Our logo has a solid shape while referring to the entire contest, or in campaigns that promote the new identity of the contest itself.
When associated with a specific field and subject, and moreover when used inside the contest, it splits into three shapes and a unique configuration for each field of interest.
Concept
Taking inspiration from the great variety of fields covered by the contest, our team decided to make use of procedurally generated graphics to shape a specific mini-identity to each award field.
Macro-categories are identified with a specific gradient applied to the graphics. Every gradient starts from the same color - purple, the dominant color of our entire brand identity.
Our new identity is based on JavaScript generated graphics.
We obtained and tampered with opensource code from openprocessing.org to visually homogenize a large quantity of sketches.
To complete our project, we decided to create a prototype of the contest’s awards.
The overall shape of the award is based on a 3D vision of our logo, and the rank is signified by the gaps between each part.
