Blinding the Competition
Hand Lettered T-Shirt Design
This piece was created for a client of mine who is a runner and running coach. When she decided to run an ultramarathon this fall she wanted to have t-shirts made for her and her crew that would be a play on her nickname "Headlamp" without being too cheesy. I decided to include an illustrated headlamp, but to make it something beautiful that no one would mind wearing again I hand lettered the tagline.
This was the final design in vector format. Funny side note: The client asked that I lose the drops at the end of the "B" as they reminded her of blood. Not wanting to jinx her race, I agreed.
The shirts we originally picked out ended up selling out so we switched to a brighter blue. Overall, I think I like it better than the original.
