Duddy

Client’s Brief:
Duddy is a team of dog lovers who want to rescue street dogs from their poor condition. Now-a-days most dogs are members of our human families, so we provide them with nutritious food and protect them from predators. But when it comes to street dogs, we are warned to stay away from them, claiming them to be a vicious creature, but in most cases, these dogs simply want food, water, and a little comfort. Wandering around wagging its tail they are usually on the lookout for a meal.
India’s street dogs live entirely off the garbage created by humans. This leaves many street dogs vulnerable to choking to death on plastic or eating something indigestible, which could cause a slow and painful death.

Client’s Vision:
We are very well aware of the dog’s ability to learn, think and solve problems, but still, we limit their capability to fetch things. Nature equips dogs with special visual accommodations that allow them to survive and thrive in the wild. By using their abilities we can help them to survive their rough conditions.
The plan involves making food booths for dogs that will be placed at different locations. People willingly can help to fill those food booths which will be easily accessible for stray dogs to eat. Once the dog becomes familiar with the food booths containing food, they will avoid going near the garbage on the road.

Client’s Requirement:
A logo that can be easily identified as a food place for dogs.

Our Research:
After receiving the brief, we started with research. Considering that the logo was to attract the dogs, we needed to know the idea of a dog’s-eye-view towards the world. While the human eye has an advantage when it comes to perceiving some colors and fine details, canines don’t. Even though a dog’s visual palette isn’t as vibrant as ours. Dogs can see shades of blue, yellow and green.

Design Decisions/ Concept:
The concept was to show love and care for dogs. Apart from appealing the canines, we also needed to make people see this logo and generously help the street dogs by giving food. To work around these constraints mentioned above we decided to go for a very minimalist approach.

Orange color:
The color of encouragement. The combination of yellow and red marks excitement, warmth, enthusiasm. It is social, motivating as well as inviting. Orange is appealing to young people. It is also associated with healthy good.
