I initially got into photography as I tended to be the one who ended up behind the camera for family events and celebrations. 

I've been fortunate to be able to document things like my sister's growing family and my other sister's graduation (that photo always makes me laugh).

I really enjoy portraiture, and capturing people's essence through photography. I gravitate to imagery that's less traditional than the usual portrait and offers something a bit different.

I sometimes shoot with my friend Pedro (who's a drag queen named Flor). This is initially how we became friends and we work together quite well. I call him my muse and am planning to do some more creative/conceptual shoots with him in the near future.

A couple more miscellaneous photos from events. The first was a fundraiser following the Christchurch mosque attacks, where there was some beautiful artwork created by a graffiti artist. The second was a quick snap from the Auckland Pride March.
