Este proyecto se trata de una entrega final para la asignatura universitaria de Diseño y Creación de Personajes, cuyo objetivo era conseguir ilustrar tres protagonistas, a elección libre, tras ver la película de los hermanos Coen, llamada El gran Lebowski.
El argumento de la comedia está basado en Jeff Lebowski, conocido también como "El Nota", un desempleado que es confundido por un millonario se llama igual que él y a cuya esposa han secuestrado. Cuando acude a casa del adinerado para quejarse, éste decide contratarlo para rescatar a su mujer a cambio de una recompensa, a lo cual le ayudarán sus otros dos buenos amigos, aficionados a los bolos.
This project is a final work for the university course of Design and Creation of Characters, whose objective was to illustrate three protagonists, freely chosen, after seeing the movie filmed by the Coen brothers, called The Great Lebowski.

Walter Sobchak es el mejor amigo de Jeff, el protagonista principal. Sigue estrictamente las reglas de los bolos y también las del judaísmo. Su caracter es inestable y violento, y siempre va con un arma encima. Además, es excombatiente de la guerra de Vietnam.
He decido seleccionarle como uno de mis personajes puesto que su vestimenta me ha parecido interesante, y me divierte la espontaneidad y la locura que lleva dentro.
Walter Sobchak is Jeff’s best friend, the main protagonist. He strictly follows the rules of bowling and also those of Judaism. His character is unstable and violent, and he always has a gun on him. In addition, he is a former combatant of the Vietnam War.

En cuanto a los colores, me he decantado por tonos tierra, los cuales hacen referencia a su participación en la guerra. Quise además añadir un elemento que resaltase de los tonos pastel, por lo que le coloqué las gafas amarillas que tanto destacan y le representan, además de la bola con la que juega y su inseparable pistola.

Para ilustrar a este personaje, decidí hacer uso de la técnica de la línea, pues tiene muchos detalles y con volumen me iba a ser más difícil representarlos.
Una vez me inspiré y busqué escenas importantes donde apareciese Walter, hice un boceto, el cual entinté con una línea limpia. Seguidamente, coloreé los elementos con una escala de grises, para que después, al añadirle color, el conjunto quedase más armónico. Por último, jugué con las luces y las sombras para darle un efecto de profundidad.

Para terminar, pusé un color de fondo verde azulado que no desentonase con la paleta de color usada para colorear al personaje, además de añadirle una capa de textura con un efecto antiguo, puesto que la película es de hace casi 30 años, y las técnicas usadas para el rodaje son, por consecuente, anticuadas si las comparamos con las actuales.
También jugué con capas de ajuste para que los colores tuviesen un mayor equilibrio.

En cuanto a los colores, me he decantado por tonos verdes y naranjas, los cuales se complementan perfectamente entre sí. He ilustrado además dos de los elementos que considero que más le representan, que son su abrigo extrafalante verde y su rojizo y descuidado flequillo.

Como Maude cuenta con pocos elementos representativos ya que no es un personaje principal, más que su abrigo y flequillo, he decidido hacer uso de la técnica de volumen en este caso, puesto que además le veía como un personaje bastante simétrico debido a su pelo.

A continuación, podréis ver cuál ha sido el resultado final una vez le he dado volumen con Adobe Photoshop, utilizando tonos, sobre todo rojizos, más oscuros. Además, al finalizar, le puse un fondo azulado, que hiciese contraste con su pelo anaranjado.
