O pulsar omnipresente da água, a neblina nas montanhas horizonte, a noite escura: Melo torna a escrita de Vergílio ainda mais presente. Porque um escritor não se dissocia daquilo que é, e o que é, é-o também por tudo o que presencia e o constrói como pessoa. E lá, face à evidência acidental, tive uma imagem impressa nalgum lugar microscópico do corpo, num tempo suspenso que abre espaço à dimensão do eterno. Aí me escuto, me reconheço.

The water’s omnipresent pulse, the haze in the horizon mountains, the dark night: Melo makes the writing of Vergílio even more present. Because a writer does not dissociate himself from what he is, and what he is, he is also because of everything that stands and builds him as a person. And there, in the face of an accidental evidence, I had an image imprinted somewhere microscopic on the body, in a suspended time that opens space to the dimension of the eternal. There I hear myself, I recognize myself.
