A senior executive based in Larchmont, New York, Mark Hirschhorn has facilitated three IPOs and more than 45 acquisitions throughout his career. Mark Hirschhorn has more than three decades of financial and operational leadership experience and leverages this to direct business activities at Talkspace in his role as president and COO.

Citizens of Reno, Nevada, were given free access to Talkspace services after the Reno City Council approved the allocation of $1.3 million in CARES Act funding for the online therapy service in December 2020. Talkspace is also contributing $200,000 to help market the service in the city. Residents who are at least 13 years old can now call, text, or FaceTime with licensed therapists free of charge. Reno became the first city in the US to offer complimentary critical mental health services of this magnitude.

Council members unanimously approved the proposal as Northern Nevada experienced a rise in COVID-19 cases in conjunction with a spike in mental illness. Councilmember Naomi Duerr commented that the city needs to be cognizant of the harsh realities of the pandemic, including lost lives, jobs, and homes, as well as how it has affected residents. As part of the partnership, Reno residents can attend one video counseling session per month.
