First day of testing of the "proof of concept" prototype for a Kick and Go Scooter with an Auxiliary Wheel Drive.
Specifications of the KickScooter:
Wheel ratio 20.0/17.5; Gear ratio 45/20; Total Multiplication ratio: 2.57/1.00
In the projected Kick-Scooter, an auxiliary wheel is attached at its rear area, on which the user will make his impulse, which in turn will be connected to the rear wheel through a simple gear; the differences between the diameters of the gears , the rear wheel and the auxiliary wheel will produce a multiplication of the speed of the scooter with respect to the speed of the user's feet.
Therefore the scooter can travel at two or three times the speed at which the user is kicking the auxiliary wheel, being a much more comfortable ride: The user can walk while the scooter is running.
