Grimoire combines two seemingly contradicting principles – calligraphic and constructive ideas and makes them work together. The font is based on geometric and handwritten shapes at the same time, with distinct influences from »techno typography«, yet with organic swashes and terminals that allow for an easy joint of letters. As body text Grimoire almost seems to be handwritten, though its low ascenders provide a calm and cheerful overall appearance. Therefore Grimoire amalgamates the positive features of both worlds—clear individual shapes and a natural, almost »italic« flow of letters.
