Verify
Verify is a national news product answering public questions about what's true or not true when it comes to trending news and viral claims on the internet. This fact-checking initiative offers consumers information they want with credible sources to back it up, helping to dissipate today's "fake news" phenomenon. Verify's editorial and video publications can be found on verifythis.com, on most social media platforms (#verifythis) and on local TEGNA news stations across the country.

As the Creative Lead and Sr. Designer for Verify, my role was to establish Verify's brand identity and promote the product's mission through promotional video and animation. The logo is simple and clean with a distinctive checkmark "V" that can standalone as an identifiable icon. The base color palette uses a modern, vibrant green to represent the "verified" theme along with a solid black and white contrast that depicts the sense of informative truth. The overall style of the brand uses dots, small squares, thin lines and other digital textures to represent "digital news" and "viral data." The sonic branding for promotional video flaunts a funky, snarky vibe that gives Verify a fun, yet down-to-earth attitude and the motion language of the brand uses natural eases that give text and other elements a relatable personality – a subtle nod to Verify's desire to relate to the public and bond with humanity. Beyond developing, managing and promoting the brand itself, I also created and presented a full style guide, several graphic assets and tens of pre-built motion graphics templates to all 50 TEGNA news stations so their local teams can stay on brand when producing local Verify stories.
