A Digi-op what is it?

A Digi-op short for ''digital operator'' is usually a camera man's support during a shoot. A digital operator's role in a production is to ensure the exposure is correct, all files are named correctly and exported suitably on to the photographers hard drive, it is furthermore important for a Digi-op to check the focus of the subject as the photographer may be busy.

Planning
Test Shoot One
The first test shoot I did was to give me an understanding of how food photography works, what is involved in shooting a successful image. I now know that styling food is important when it comes to food photography, presentation is key and you must use a variety of fresh ingredients to choose from therefore I can hopefully end up with an image with lots of colour.

Stages
each photo image took some planning. i had to make sure each image was eye pleasing and suitable for each page.
Front Cover
I was aiming to make a statement for my front cover. I want simplicity and colour. I wanted to make the yellow pop out so it contrasts the green from the avocado.
Hand shot
My aim was to capture the hand movements of the person cooking because it brings out the action in an image and it exposes the stress the of the muscles.
Macro
Shooting these macro images weren't too difficult as all I had to do was grab 3 fresh ingredients and shoot on a macro lens (preferably 30-55 mm) I just needed to make sue I had a fairly decent lighting.
Spread
before shooting this image I was going mainly for colours by combining it with multiple ingredients which created a contrast between each other and I had fun colour editing this image as-well.
shooting my final image was another macro shot of a vegetable and I chose 3 different ones like a green chilli, baby onions and garlic so that I can imitate a colour palette style image.
