Overview

When I started working at Marion Group, the company had already established its logo and corporate colours.  As they were more focused on IT solutions and programming, they weren’t bothered with creating a brand, as far as they were concerned, they had a brand because they had a logo.  Over the years, I started developing a brand, sourcing images, and creating icons for them, using their existing logo and colours, but something was missing.

We need to simplify the logo!

The logo proved problematic and restrictive.  It contained a lot of detail and outdated graphics, restricting its display options on signage, and corporate gifting items.

In my 7th year at the company, I decided to approach the CEO and Directors and ask them if they would consider a brand revamp. They were sceptical, as they have been using the logo for more than 10 years, but said I could present my ideas as long as I keep the concept of the current logo in-tact, which was to symbolize the group as a one-stop IT Solution.
